Chalk Talk - A Workshop for Graduate Teachers

We are beyond excited to announce our first workshop for graduate teachers, Chalk Talk! The focus will be assessments and preparing for Term 2 (report writing term), parent interactions and classroom management. Our 2017 research found that these were the areas of most concern for graduate teachers, and we hope to relieve some of this stress and confusion for graduate teachers.

Parent Interactions: Most common types of parents you will meet, and how to work with them.

Classroom Management: Practical strategies and how to deal with a range of student behaviours.

Assessment: Digital and paper tools for keeping assessments organised, along with the key components of a successful report writing season.

We are committed to keeping numbers in this workshop as low as possible, so we are able to cater for individual participants needs. Prior to the workshop, we will be asking participants to let us know their current concerns and areas they would like us to focus on. We are thrilled to be able to keep the workshop relevant and focused on what you, the teacher, needs.

Make sure you share this workshop with any friends or colleagues who you feel would also benefit from this small group professional development session. Remember, we want to cater to you and your needs.

Currently, Victorian Teacher Registration requirements state that teachers need to complete at least 20 hours of professional development, and we are happy to say that our workshop hours will count towards this quota.
