COVID-19 update: Businesses face new trading rules from March 25

COVID-19 update - Businesses face new trading rules from March 25

New trading rules for businesses are now effective, following last night’s announcement by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

For retailers, the new phase of shutdowns will include the closure of beauty and personal care services, shopping centre food courts, entertainment venues and more.

These measures have been taken to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and save lives.

“Practicing good hygiene and keeping a healthy physical distance between individuals is our most powerful weapon in fighting this virus and saving lives,” Mr Morrison said.

“The highest priority should be placed on social isolation measures as well as strict and rapid contact tracing of individuals. It is paramount that contact tracing occur quickly and thoroughly and that public data is available to support this effort.”

The information, currently advised by the Prime Minister of Australia, applies to local businesses in Camberwell, including retailers and service providers. View a full list of businesses that apply here.
